Management aspects of TYPO3
As administrators of a site or web portal is important to know all the possibilities that a tool provides, and use the best way with the main objective of a better way to guide users to the information they seek.
Why we offer this information based on the tool to promote and develop the TYPO3, seeking to expand operational details of the tools and their benefits to potential users.
We hope you will find lots of interesting information.
Elements and terms
It's worth mentioning for those unfamiliar with the terminology used in web pages using the CMS, there are two aspects of sites:
- What the user sees when they are browsing in the internet (frontend).
- What the administrator see (backend), which is a restricted area to which the user enters with a password assigned.
The administrator defines who enters and what tools or modules can be assigned to each editor, as only he is able to use all available tools.
We note that the contents of the pages are displayed as a tree.
Web module
When you start your work with TYPO3 will find many options for navigate and also tools, which will begin to know the following:
In the picture we see the left side a menu that contains, among others, the web module indicated by the literal "1", which can be deployed as "a" four options for viewing information:
- Page (1.1)
- View (1.2)
- List (1.3)
- Information (1.4)
Also in this picture we can see that the menus can be contracted as "b" or drop-down of the form "c" so that it can adapt to the user's work and your screen.
Forms of information visualization
When you deploy the web module and find these four options is necessary to identify the differences and benefits of using each one of them.
- 1.1 Page. It allows the administrator to view the components of the page relative to its position in the template configuration: content center, lateral content, navigation, tools.
- 1.2 View. It allows the administrator to view the components of the page as you see the user in the frontend.
- 1.3 List. It allows the administrator to view the components on the page as a listing of the contents of it.
- 1.4 Info. It allows the administrator to view relevant information from selected page.
View as page
We can see on the page the distribution of elements according to the distribution in the template.
- a. Components of the "Main content area (name assigned developer)." Type text, images, which can be edited (cut, copy, move, paste as shown in the icons of the tools "e").
- b. Components of the "Main navigation bar (name assigned developer)." In this example there are no elements defined for this area.
- c. Components of the "Main banner area (name assigned developer)." In this case have been placed in this space functions as shown in esppeciales indicated by arrows, and some texts. These are also editable, components as shown in the icons of the tools "d".
We can see a simple example in the second image with the implementation of the new module "Templavoila "
